Talent Strategies is recruiting a Clinical Dietitian in Hialeah, FL for a full-time, onsite opportunity supporting a PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program serving frail and elderly adults.

This Clinical Dietitian position is ideal for a Registered Dietitian (RD) who combines strong clinical nutrition experience with compassion, flexibility, and a genuine interest in geriatric and senior care. The Dietitian will work directly with older adults while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to support participants’ nutritional needs, overall health, safety, and quality of life.

This is not a traditional desk-based dietitian position. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable completing clinical assessments and documentation and providing hands-on support to elderly participants throughout the day.

Clinical Dietitian Requirements

Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered:

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Current Florida Dietitian/Nutritionist license
  • Fluent bilingual English/Spanish required
  • Minimum one year of experience working directly with a frail or elderly population required
  • Current ServSafe Certification required
  • Current CPR/BLS required prior to start
  • Clinical nutrition experience
  • Experience within PACE, senior care, geriatric care, adult day health, skilled nursing, or a similar interdisciplinary healthcare environment strongly preferred
  • Must be comfortable providing hands-on support to elderly participants and working beyond traditional dietitian responsibilities when needed

About the Clinical Dietitian Position

The Clinical Dietitian is an active member of the PACE interdisciplinary care team and works directly with frail and elderly participants in Hialeah to assess nutritional needs, develop individualized nutrition plans, and support each participant’s overall plan of care.

In addition to clinical nutrition responsibilities, this position plays an active role in the day-to-day participant experience. This may include assisting during meals, helping participants who need support with eating, overseeing food service and inventory, coordinating with catering and meal-service vendors, and stepping in wherever needed to support participants and the care team.

The right person will bring a combination of clinical expertise, empathy, flexibility, organization, and a genuine passion for serving older adults.

Clinical Dietitian Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive nutritional assessments and reassessments for PACE participants
  • Develop individualized nutrition plans as part of each participant’s overall plan of care
  • Participate actively in interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings and care planning
  • Monitor participant weight, nutritional intake, hydration, swallowing or chewing concerns, medical conditions, skin integrity, and other factors affecting nutritional health
  • Provide nutrition counseling and education to participants and caregivers
  • Develop monthly meal plans consistent with nutritional and program requirements
  • Oversee meal service and ensure appropriate portions, therapeutic diets, cleanliness, and food-service standards
  • Provide hands-on assistance and support to participants during meals when needed
  • Monitor food purchasing, dietary supplies, and inventory
  • Coordinate with catering and contracted meal-service vendors to ensure participant dietary needs are met
  • Supervise and support dietary aides
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate changes in participant status to the interdisciplinary team
  • Participate in quality and performance-improvement activities
  • Work collaboratively with nursing, medical, social services, rehabilitation, and other members of the PACE care team
  • Step in to support participants and the center as needed in a collaborative, hands-on environment

Who Will Thrive in This Clinical Dietitian Role?

This opportunity is ideal for a Registered Dietitian who enjoys working directly with older adults rather than working exclusively behind a desk.

You’ll likely thrive here if you:

  • Genuinely enjoy working with frail and elderly adults
  • Are patient, compassionate, and empathetic
  • Don’t hesitate to step in when a participant needs assistance
  • Enjoy balancing clinical nutrition care with administrative responsibilities
  • Are comfortable working closely with an interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Can manage nutrition assessments and documentation while also overseeing meals, inventory, vendors, and day-to-day food-service needs
  • Understand that PACE is a highly collaborative environment where team members often help beyond the narrow boundaries of their individual discipline

Experience working as a Clinical Dietitian or Registered Dietitian in PACE, geriatric care, senior care, skilled nursing, adult day health, or another interdisciplinary healthcare setting can translate especially well to this position.
