Dental Assistant Requirements
Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered:
- Completion of a Dental Assistant Program
- Dental Assistant experience in a clinical setting
- Bilingual English/Spanish required
- Current Radiation Safety certification
- Current Infection Control certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Coronal Polishing certification preferred
- Strong understanding of dental infection control and sterilization procedures
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume dental clinic
- Strong patient service and communication skills
- Reliable, dependable, and team-oriented
- Interest in stable, long-term employment and continued growth in the dental field
About the Dental Assistant Position
The Dental Assistant supports dentists and the clinical dental team within a busy community health dental clinic in Lynwood, California.
This role includes chairside dental assisting, preparing treatment rooms and instruments, taking dental radiographs and intraoral images, maintaining infection control and sterilization standards, supporting patient flow, and helping create a positive experience for patients throughout their visit.
The Dental Assistant works closely with dentists, front office staff, and other members of the dental team to maintain efficient clinic operations and provide respectful, patient-centered oral healthcare.
The dental program serves diverse patient populations, including children, families, seniors, Denti-Cal recipients, and individuals who may experience barriers to accessing dental care.
Dental Assistant Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during clinical procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, equipment, and dental materials
- Take dental radiographs and intraoral photographs
- Perform delegated Dental Assistant duties consistent with certification and scope
- Perform coronal polishing if appropriately certified
- Assist with impressions and other delegated dental procedures
- Maintain sterilization, infection control, and clinical safety protocols
- Clean and prepare operatories between patients
- Support efficient patient flow and clinic productivity
- Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
- Provide patient education and reinforce provider instructions
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records
- Follow HIPAA, infection control, and workplace safety requirements
- Assist with dental supplies, instruments, and clinical organization
- Communicate effectively with dentists, patients, and other dental team members
- Collaborate with clinical and front office staff to support positive patient experiences

Work Environment & Schedule

This position is based at the Lynwood, CA dental clinic within a fast-paced community health environment.
The dental program operates during clinic hours of approximately 7:45 AM–6:00 PM, with the individual full-time schedule established based on clinic needs.
The Dental Assistant will work onsite alongside dental providers, clinical staff, and front office team members while supporting accessible oral healthcare for the local community.
Compensation
Pay: $25/hour
This position offers a set hourly rate of $25/hour.
