Talent Strategies is recruiting a Dental Assistant in Palmdale, CA for a full-time float opportunity supporting community health dental clinics in the Antelope Valley.

This Dental Assistant Float position will be based primarily in Palmdale and provide coverage between the Palmdale and Lancaster dental clinics as needed. Saturday clinic coverage is required approximately one time per month.

Dental Assistant Requirements

Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered:

• Completion of a Dental Assistant Program
• Dental Assistant experience in a clinical setting
• Bilingual English/Spanish required
• Comfortable working as a Dental Assistant Float between Palmdale and Lancaster
• Ability to adapt to different providers, dental teams, workflows, and clinic needs
• Strong understanding of dental infection control and sterilization procedures
• Reliable, flexible, and team-oriented
• Interest in long-term employment and continued growth in the dental field

Dental Assistant Certifications

Candidates should have the following certifications, as applicable:

• Coronal Polishing
• Radiation Safety
• Infection Control
• CPR/BLS – must be current by start

About the Dental Assistant Float Position

The Dental Assistant Float supports dentists and dental teams within busy community health and FQHC dental clinics in Palmdale and Lancaster, California.

While Palmdale will serve as the primary location, this Dental Assistant must be comfortable providing coverage at the Lancaster clinic based on staffing and operational needs.

The role includes chairside dental assisting, treatment-room preparation, X-rays, infection control, sterilization, patient support, and helping maintain efficient patient flow throughout the clinic.

Because this is a float position, adaptability is important. The Dental Assistant should be comfortable working with different providers and team members while maintaining consistent standards for patient care, safety, and clinic operations.

Dental Assistant Responsibilities

• Assist dentists using four-handed dentistry techniques
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, equipment, and materials
• Take dental X-rays and intraoral images
• Perform delegated Dental Assistant procedures, including coronal polishing and impressions as permitted
• Maintain infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols
• Support efficient patient flow in a fast-paced dental clinic
• Provide chairside assistance and help patients feel comfortable throughout treatment
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records
• Clean and prepare operatories between patients
• Assist with dental supplies, instruments, and clinical organization
• Communicate effectively with dentists, dental staff, and patients
• Provide float coverage between Palmdale and Lancaster dental clinics as scheduled
• Provide Saturday clinic coverage approximately one time per month
• Contribute to a collaborative, patient-focused dental team

Work Environment & Schedule

Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 7:45 AM–5:00 PM

This Dental Assistant will be based in Palmdale and float between the Palmdale and Lancaster dental clinics as needed.

Saturday coverage is required approximately one time per month based on clinic scheduling needs.

The dental program serves diverse patient populations within a fast-paced, team-oriented community health environment.

Compensation

Pay: $23–$25/hour

Compensation is determined based on a combination of experience, certifications, interview outcome, and the final decision between the client and candidate.
