🏥 New Dental Clinic | Target Opening: Early 2027
Talent Strategies is recruiting an experienced Dental Manager in East Hollywood, Los Angeles to help lead the opening of a brand-new community health dental clinic scheduled to open in early 2027.
This is a unique opportunity for an established dental leader to become involved before the clinic opens its doors, helping establish the operational standards, team expectations, workflows, patient experience, and culture that will shape the new East Hollywood dental program.
While the East Hollywood clinic is under construction, the Dental Manager will train and work primarily at the Downtown Los Angeles / Skid Row dental location and may provide assistance at other Los Angeles-area clinics as needed. Once the new clinic opens, East Hollywood will become the manager’s assigned clinic location.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Dental Office Manager, Dental Practice Manager, or Dental Clinic Manager who understands how to lead teams, manage busy clinic operations, improve patient flow, and support both clinical and front-office dental staff.
Experience within an FQHC, Community Health Center, nonprofit dental clinic, Denti-Cal environment, or other high-volume dental practice is highly valued.
Dental Manager Requirements
To be considered, candidates should have:
- 3+ years of dental supervisory, management, or leadership experience
- 4+ years of dental office experience in front office, back office, or a combination of both
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Strong knowledge of dental clinic operations, patient flow, scheduling, and productivity
- Experience supervising and developing dental staff
- Experience with staff scheduling, coverage, training, coaching, and operational oversight
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills
- Experience serving diverse and underserved patient populations
- Ability to train and work at the Downtown Los Angeles / Skid Row location during the East Hollywood clinic’s pre-opening period
- Ability to assist at other Los Angeles-area clinic locations as operational needs arise prior to the East Hollywood opening
Highly Preferred:
- FQHC or Community Health Center dental experience
- Dental Assistant (DA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) background
- Denti-Cal experience
- NextGen/EDR experience
- Experience supporting a new clinic opening, operational transition, or team development
About the East Hollywood Dental Manager Position
The Dental Manager will ultimately oversee the day-to-day operations of a brand-new community health dental clinic in East Hollywood.
Unlike stepping into an established clinic, this opportunity gives the incoming manager the chance to help set the bar from the beginning.
Working closely with dental leadership, providers, and support teams, the Dental Manager will help establish strong operational practices, effective workflows, team expectations, patient-service standards, and an accountable, collaborative clinic culture.
Once operational, the manager will provide leadership to Dental Assistants, Dental Front Office staff, and other members of the dental team while overseeing patient flow, staffing, productivity, compliance, and overall clinic performance.
Pre-Opening Training & Clinic Launch
The East Hollywood dental clinic is currently under construction, with a target opening in early 2027.
During the pre-opening period, the Dental Manager will have the opportunity to learn the organization’s dental operations, expectations, systems, and patient-care model firsthand.
The manager will:
- Train and work primarily at the Downtown Los Angeles / Skid Row dental clinic
- Gain hands-on familiarity with established dental workflows and operational standards
- Build relationships with dental leadership, providers, and support teams
- Learn organizational systems, procedures, and performance expectations
- Assist other Los Angeles-area dental locations when operational support is needed
- Prepare to transition into leadership of the East Hollywood clinic as it approaches opening
- Help establish the operational foundation and team culture for the new clinic
This pre-opening period provides an opportunity to enter the East Hollywood location already familiar with the organization rather than learning its systems after the clinic opens.
Dental Manager Responsibilities
- Manage daily dental clinic operations and workflow
- Supervise and support Dental Assistants and Dental Front Office teams
- Monitor provider schedules, patient flow, productivity, and operational performance
- Coordinate staffing schedules, coverage, and time-off needs
- Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and develop dental team members
- Help establish workflows and operational expectations for the new East Hollywood clinic
- Support the development of a positive, accountable, and team-oriented clinic culture
- Monitor scheduling, referrals, appointment confirmations, recalls, and patient follow-up
- Support staff accountability and performance management
- Assist with patient concerns and grievance resolution
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, infection control, safety, and clinic protocols
- Monitor operational reports, open encounters, productivity metrics, and workflow
- Support dental quality-improvement initiatives and operational audits
- Coordinate supplies, facility requests, and other clinic operational needs
- Partner with dental leadership to improve clinic performance and patient outcomes
- Participate in community outreach activities as needed
Who Will Thrive in This Dental Manager Role?
We’re looking for an established dental leader, rather than someone seeking their first management opportunity.
You’ll likely thrive in this position if you enjoy not only managing an operation but building one.
The ideal candidate understands how the front office, back office, providers, schedules, patient flow, productivity, and patient experience all work together—and is excited by the opportunity to help establish those standards within a new clinic.
You may be especially well suited for this opportunity if you:
- Have successfully managed dental teams
- Enjoy developing staff and establishing team expectations
- Are comfortable creating structure and improving workflows
- Can balance operational performance with a positive patient and employee experience
- Are adaptable and comfortable working at established clinics during the pre-opening period
- Want the opportunity to help shape the culture and operations of a new dental location
- Are passionate about community health and expanding access to oral healthcare
Candidates coming from FQHC dental programs, Community Health Centers, nonprofit dental clinics, Denti-Cal practices, or other high-volume dental environments are especially encouraged to apply.
A background as a Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is highly desirable because this manager will lead clinical support teams and should understand dental operations from the ground up.
