This Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) position is ideal for an experienced dental professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced clinical environment, supporting providers, maintaining efficient patient flow, and delivering compassionate care to diverse patient populations.

Candidates with experience in an FQHC, Community Health Center, nonprofit dental clinic, Denti-Cal practice, or other high-volume dental environment are especially encouraged to apply.

Registered Dental Assistant Requirements

Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered:

  • Active California Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license
  • Dental clinic experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Current Radiation Safety certification
  • Current Infection Control certification
  • Coronal Polishing certification
  • Strong understanding of dental infection control and sterilization procedures
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume dental clinic
  • Strong patient service and communication skills
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to long-term employment

About the Registered Dental Assistant Position

The Registered Dental Assistant supports dentists and the clinical dental team within a busy community health dental clinic in Lancaster, California.

The RDA provides chairside assistance, prepares treatment rooms and instruments, takes dental radiographs and intraoral images, performs delegated procedures consistent with California RDA scope of practice, and helps maintain safe and efficient patient flow throughout the clinic.

This position works closely with dentists, Dental Assistants, front office staff, and other members of the dental team to provide respectful, patient-centered oral healthcare.

The dental program serves diverse patient populations, including children, families, seniors, Denti-Cal recipients, and individuals who may experience barriers to accessing dental care.

Registered Dental Assistant Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during clinical procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, equipment, and dental materials
  • Take dental radiographs and intraoral photographs
  • Perform delegated RDA duties consistent with certification, licensure, and scope of practice
  • Perform coronal polishing as permitted
  • Assist with impressions and other delegated dental procedures
  • Maintain sterilization, infection control, and clinical safety protocols
  • Clean and prepare operatories between patients
  • Support efficient patient flow and clinic productivity
  • Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
  • Provide patient education and reinforce provider instructions
  • Maintain accurate documentation and patient records
  • Follow HIPAA, infection control, and workplace safety requirements
  • Assist with dental supplies, instruments, and clinical organization
  • Communicate effectively with providers, patients, and other dental team members
  • Collaborate with clinical and front office staff to support positive patient experiences
  • Provide Saturday clinic coverage approximately one time per month

Work Environment & Schedule

Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 7:45 AM–5:00 PM

This Registered Dental Assistant position is based in Lancaster, CA, within a fast-paced community health dental clinic.

Saturday coverage is required approximately one time per month based on clinic scheduling needs.

The RDA will work closely with dental providers, clinical staff, and front office team members while serving diverse patient populations throughout the community.

Compensation

Pay: $25–$28/hour

Compensation is determined based on a combination of experience, certifications, interview outcome, and the final decision between the client and candidate.
